Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers see film posters with sharper eyes. Send proposals through the Contact page, with enough detail for us to understand the subject, the approach and why it belongs here.
What we welcome
Pitch thoughtful pieces about poster composition, typography, colour, illustration, format or the history of poster design. Useful contributions make a clear point, stay close to the visual material and give readers a way to look for themselves.
A useful pitch
Tell us the proposed subject, your central idea, the kind of examples you would discuss and any sources or image permissions the piece may need. A focused proposal is more helpful than a broad offer to write about film design.
Before sending
Use the Contact page to submit your proposal; choose the editorial question option and explain that it is a pitch. Do not send confidential material or assume that submission guarantees publication. We may ask for revisions or decline a proposal that does not fit.
Look at the poster before the film
A poster is both an image and an invitation. We look closely at the choices that shape that invitation, without treating a design as a promise about the film itself.
